This beach has white and fine sand, it’s almost 2 kilometers long and 60 meters wide and it has an entrance adapted for people with reduced mobility. It’s one of the best beaches in Barreiros to go surfing. It’s perfect to learn and master your surfing skills and it has a designated area for this sport.

It’s located between the Remior beach and the famous “Pena da Salsa”, which used to be a woman-exclusive beach between 1920 and 1930.

Years ago, an environmental plan was put into action to restore more than 100.000 square meters of the dune system, which allowed for the recovery of the natural surroundings of the beach.

Here lies an anthropomorphic medieval tomb which was built by hand on one of the rocks. This construction is the only preserved medieval maritime burial that we know of.

On its east side there’s a recreational area.
