Lóngara and Punta Corveira beach

Lóngara beach

It’s around 800 meters long and its width varies between 30 and 160 meters.

When the tide is low it’s possible to see one of the most unique rock formations of the beach, known as “Pena do Elefante”, named after elephants because it resembles their trunk.

Its water conditions make it an ideal place to go surfing and it’s common to see people practicing this sport.

There are two recreational areas next to it.

Dogs are not allowed.

Punta Corveira beach – dog friendly

This small beach is to the east of the Lóngara beach and it’s part of it. It’s surrounded by the Sarxendez river on the west and the Punta Corveira rocks on the east, which separate it from the Pasadas beach.

Here you’ll be able to hang out with your pet throughout the year without a time limit. You can check out the beach rules here or at the main entrance of the beach.

This beach also hides a small geological treasure in the shape of folds that were formed during the first phase of the Variscan deformation, which happened more than 350 million years during the continent collision that formed Pangea.
